Slow Down You Crazy Child

Vienna- Billy Joel

though the pictures are overly interpretive of the lyrics, I feel that the song is fitting

Preparation for the Aberration

I started this blog on April 23, 2010 with the intentions of posting about all of the exciting things that I do. Until now there were six previous posts which have all been deleted. Do not think that I have not done anything exciting since last April. I deleted the previous posts because they were irrelevant to the new direction of this blog. I still intend to post about all of the cool things I do, but will now concentrate on my adventures abroad. I suppose I will try to make this blog interesting to read, thus filling it with interesting facts and enticing pictures, but mainly this is just a way for me to keep track of my thoughts and record what I do.

I have seemingly packed my life into three pieces of luggage. One large red bag that I will check, one medium size red bag that I will carry on, and one red and grey Optimus North Face backpack in which I have shoved all things most precious to me. Among those precious things are my camera and fruit snacks, and well that is really it.

To think that I can fit the necessary items to get me through five full months into these three bags feels strange, but it mostly feels extremely liberating.

If you want interesting facts, here you go:
1. I am moving to Vienna, Austria. In Austria they speak German. Guess who does not speak German? This girl. Oops
2. Vienna (pronounced /viːˈɛnə/; German: Wien [viːn]; Austro-Bavarian: Wean IPA: [veɐ̯n]) is the capital of the Republic of Austria and one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primary city, with a population of about 1.7 million[3] (2.4 million within themetropolitan area,[2]more than 25% of Austria's population), and is by far the largest city in Austria, as well as its cultural, economic, and political centre. It is the 10th-largest city by population in the European Union. Vienna is host to many majorinternational organizations, such as the United Nations andOPEC.
3. That was directly copy pasted from the first paragraph of with wiki page for Vienna.
4. Hopefully this trip will open all kinds of physical, mental, geographical, etc doors and I will be able to write some of my own "interesting facts"

If you want enticing pictures, here you go:

It is a picture of a girl who sort of looks like me pointing at a map sort of near where I will be living.

It is now time for me to post about the first cool thing that I will do:
Adventure #1: Crossing the Prime Meridian

Tomorrow I will cross the Prime Meridian. Longitude 0 degrees. SO EXCITING!
Perhaps it is not, but perhaps it is one of the craziest theoretical things that I will ever knowingly do? If we are going to units of time to divide the day we must surely assign lines to divide the earth. Crossing the zero mark is like crossing midnight. I guess we do it everyday, but I think that might make it even more exciting. The opportunities that come with each new day now come with the crossing of this originating line. I will be living 7 hours ahead of you, but I will be living at the exact same time, but I digress....

Judging by what has flown from my fingers in the past few minutes, this so called blog is most likely going to be an outlet of my thoughts and appreciation of the world, and with that I leave you with this quote:

"There is no such thing as time. The sun never sets or rises. Days and years don't exist. There is only your life. Earlier today you were born and death is predicted later in the evening."
